La-Tasha Best-Gaddy is a Business Counselor with Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) on the campus of NC Central University. She is a radio co-host of an online radio show called GEMS, a radio show for Women-Owned Businesses. La-Tasha has over 20 years of experience in the Accounting, Insurance, Financial Services, and Non-Profit Industry Sectors. She has been a guest instructor at various North Carolina Community College Small Business Centers. She has worked with all of the North Carolina Historically Black Colleges & University in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Student Loan Debt, Money Management and Credit.
La-Tasha is a passionate thought leader and entrepreneur. She has spoken at local, state and national conferences and panel discussions. She is a serial business owner and currently support her two children’s business ventures. She is active within the community and serves on multiple committees and boards. La-Tasha serves as Board Chairman of Self-Help Credit Union, Board Treasurer of The Collaborative, and City of Durham Small Business Advisory Committee, Forward Cities Innovations Council and other organizations.
La-Tasha received several curriculum certifications and is a continuous learner. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Business Administration – Entrepreneurship from Walden University. She is NxLevel certified, REAL certified, and provides Business Canvas instruction. She holds graduate (MPA) and undergraduate ( BBA Finance )from North Carolina Central University. She has a certificate from The College of Insurance in New York. She is a graduate of NC Rural Economic Development Institute, Leadership North Carolina and Leadership Triangle (a Goodman Fellow).
